Baking Powder

Gabby my 2 year old was playing in her play kitchen and pretending to cook. I was amazed when she said she was adding baking soda and then some baking powder. This girl is going to be a great cook.

Do you know what baking powder is? If you run out of baking powder you can make some up. Baking Powder is a mixture of Baking Soda, Cream of Tartar and Starch.

This is a Recipe that will make up 1 Tbsp of Baking Powder.

Ingredients:

* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
* 1 teaspoon corn starch

Mix the baking soda, cream of tartar and corn starch together until well combined. Store in an air-tight container.

Did You Know? Most store bought baking powder contains aluminum--sodium aluminum sulfate to be exact. You can make your own baking powder, and keep aluminum out of your baked goods.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading each and every comment. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I wish I could sit and chat with each of you face to face, sipping on an ice cold lemonade (in the hotter months) or a nice hot cup of coffee (in the colder months), getting to know each other but this is fun too.
