Dresses for G4

My friend, Michelle had learned how to sew and was challenging me to sew some for my little girl. I went and got several pieces of material-all on sale. Michelle had made sundresses but for some reason my machine would not cooperate so now I had all this material and NO dresses. I began creating some pattern ideas in my head so I could still make Gabby some dresses. Decorating is really my forte. I can sew, obviously, I am making dresses without a pattern but it is not a LOVE for me-just OK. Now, if I were making curtains or something for the house I would be pushing myself to get it all done-- BECAUSE I LOVE DECORATING. I thought I would show how the first 3 dresses have come out. I have material for 3 more and I will show what materials I still have-un-made, but will be in a post soon.

The first picture shows an adorable chenille rose bud fabric. I had a little left over from when I made all of her bedding for her bedroom. I had thought about ordering extra for a dress for her but didn't know exactly how much I would need so I thought I would re-order it when I decided on a style. The place no longer carries it and I have searched the internet, only to come up short. I have enough to do part of the dress in it, just not the whole dress. I am going with the pale pink and pistachio fabrics to accent this luscious rose bud chenille. G4 loves pink and I think this one will be her favorite. I hate to see the last of this fabric go. I absolutely LOVE it.

The next 2 pictures are of the mango colored fabric. I am going to do it with this huge rick rack. I think it will be oh so cute when it is all done. Post back often to see how it comes out.

I thought it would be nice to have a change of pace and add in some colors besides pink. She actually does have more than pink but she would prefer to wear pink EVERY DAY. I think this black combo came out cute.

The photo doesn't not represent the fabric very well. It is much darker in real life. It is a linen and I can't wait to see it all made up.

This soft aqua is precious.

This is a girly girl little dress. G4 LOVES to wear high heals and loves lipstick and bright pink finger nail polish. She wants to take a purse with her any time we go out. The only 2 things I don't have on this dress are her babies and her hats. This girl LOVES her baby dolls. She also wants to wear a hat out and about. I think this came out SOOOOO cute. I want to make hair bows to match all of her dresses.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading each and every comment. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I wish I could sit and chat with each of you face to face, sipping on an ice cold lemonade (in the hotter months) or a nice hot cup of coffee (in the colder months), getting to know each other but this is fun too.
