Re-doing the kids little table

My Mother has this little table for the kids and it got a little tear in it and, well-you know how kids are. I guess it was a cool place to hide things like crayons or little toys. The rip got bigger and bigger. I went to JoAnn's to get some new vinyl and the selection was BLAH, BLAH, BLAH!!!

My Mom wanted something fun and colorful for the kiddos. The table is bright red and has 4 little chairs-a red one, blue one, yellow and green one. I found this cute Map of the US and Canada and thought it was fun and educational. I got some clear vinyl to go over the top. Stay tuned to see how it comes out. I told you, those JoAnn coupons are handy-there is always a project you can save money on.

Don't you want to head to Hawaii? I DO

Way down South in the Land of Cotton...Each state shows something the state is famous for having. Isn't this a cute idea? The fabric is actually bigger than the table so I won't be able to get it all on the table but maybe I will make napkins or something for the kids.

The HEART of AMERICA

Home for now...

I'll be taking pictures as I get this project done. I think it will be cute for the kids.

  1. Just poped over from Rhoda's blog
and love your table top idea.
But were did you find a Joann's
    in the B'ham area?
Oh, and love the apron. I collect
    vintage looking aprons and love
    wearing them.

  3. Nancy-I am in Southwest Florida (Gulf Side) not Birmingham but I would love to visit Birmingham. You should contact JoAnn's and ask when they will be putting one in your area-you never know it may put you on THEIR map of shots to set up shop. I also love Hobby Lobby but we don't have one here--it's so hard when you are used to certain stores and have to find different avenues to get your STUFF but then it makes me go in to places I might not have also and sometimes I find other great treasures.

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog and your input on the kitchen cabinets..not a bad idea you sent. I love the fabric you picked up for the kids table..can't wait to see it all done. My kids have a huge table in the craft room - it is their own place to create and we cut holes in the top to put metal buckets to hold all of their "stuff".
thanks again and will be checking back to see the table.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading each and every comment. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I wish I could sit and chat with each of you face to face, sipping on an ice cold lemonade (in the hotter months) or a nice hot cup of coffee (in the colder months), getting to know each other but this is fun too.
