Well the poll closed last night on the name for the Cottage tour and the one with the most votes is Its So Very Cottagey. Now I need to work on a button. Be sure to come see the first Its So Very Cottagey tour this Friday. I am getting in touch with people who have signed up so I can get everybody going for the next 3 weeks so I can work ahead on some things while I am out of town. I have enough people on the list to be able to showcase 3 per week for 4 or 5 weeks and then we will need to add more names to the list. I think once people see the tours they are going to want to get in on the tour as well.
I have been trying to get my blog finished and I am still working on it, but I wanted to let you know something. When I started my blog, I went back and forth on whether I should do the correct spelling of It's or just do Its because of not being able to use this ' in the URL and I decided to leave it out. I recently had a school teacher let me know I had the spelling of Its wrong. She was not being mean or unkind she was just letting me know. I responded to her, letting her know that I went back and forth and why I decided to leave it out. Does it drive anyone else crazy that I left it out or did you even notice?
On a note of e-mails-I love hearing from you gals and try to get to as many of you as I possibly can. Sometimes I have to choose who I can get to, due to the number I receive but I do try and I try to leave genuine e-mails to each of you. I received an e-mail from someone the other day. It was not an anonymous e-mail and it was letting me know what they thought. These gals have never posted to one of the parties, if they come by on a regular basis, they don't leave comments. I have left several messages about some of their great projects and have even told them I would love for them to show their item at one of the parties. When I see great projects I love to have them come over and inspire all of us. I hope everyone of you know how important you are. I responded in a very kind way, receiving an e-mail back but it basically re-iterated their feelings. I sent one last e-mail, once again trying to be kind. I could have said a lot but chose not to. All I can do is pray for these girls and hope none of you have to go through anything like that. The saddest part was that she had scripture as part of her signature. She doesn't know me or where I am in my walk with the Lord but what if that had gone to someone searching for an answer to the meaning of life, what a poor testimony. I just thought of Rom 12:19 (NIV)
19Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay,"[a]says the Lord.

I am just crazy in love with these wire pumpkins and I know you will be too.
Jane's wire pumpkin tutorial is AMAZING
I love the little curly q's she added and do you see those bottles. She doesn't mention them but I think they are bottles she probably made of Halloween potion. I've been thinking about doing that. I think everyone will agree that this is a KNOCK OUT.
Look at these BOTTLES
I think hers are better than the originals don't you?
Denise did a Ballard's Knock Off and didn't know it till after she was done. Go over and take a look at her entry way side table makeover. It came out beautiful.
Now we know everyone is just crazy about burlap and thisPILLOW is gorgeous.
Can I tell you how much I have missed frsh grown tomatoes and corn this summer. I know everyone probably assumes that lots of veggies grown down here because it is warm all year long. Yes you can grow veggies down here but veggies grown in sandy soil taste like hot house veggies-BLAH!!! I want to laugh every time I see a sign at the grocery store that says LOCALLY GROWN-I think whippy doo. My in-laws have lots of farm land and even though I am not a farmland kind of girl I love the products that come from them. Last year they loaded us up with tons of tomatoes and all kinds of veggies and corn on the cob-the peaches and cream that just melts in your mouth, and tons of cantaloupe. So this post brought back lots of memories of canning salsa and freezing bags of tomatoes, and corn and ten we moved before we could eat it all and I gave t back to my in-laws. The bundt pan works great by the way-I did it last year.
CORN CORN EVERYWHERE

Great time and money saving tips.

SUPER DUPER Natural wreath Have you seen these?-they ae so pretty. Would a great idea and you could use so many different items-I love it.
What I really like about this project is the fact that it is THRIFTY, SUPER QUICK, SO EASY a kid could do it, and it is great for those gals that don't have a sewing machine or those of us that do. The NO SEW pumpkin tutorial is Fabulous.
Be sure to visit everyone and thank you gals. I've once again been inspired by you.
OK gals you can grab the I've been featured button and post it on your side bar.

Be sure to visit everyone who did a post, they were all great, and thank them for posting their project. Just click on Knock Off Knock Out party and it will take you over so you can see all of the projects. I would really appreciate it, if everyone who has enjoyed these parties will grab my buttons to post on your side bar so others will learn about the party and come post their beautiful inspirations as well, so we can be inspired even more.
Tomorrow is the Celebrate the Holidays party-come back and be insired by everyone's decor-
I love coming to meet you and if you follow me I will come and do the same. If you have not had a visit from me with in 24 hours you need to contact me because I can not find you -due to the way your account is set up, or Google issues. I feel really bad when I can not keep my promise.

ReplyDeleteLOVE knock-offs! I usually see what is in Ballards and PB and then go to Target online (they have more than what is in the stores) and buy it there! My kids have furniture that is in the PB teen catalog via Target online for MORE than half the price. One lamp 179.00 at PB... 49.99 at Target... LOVE knock-offs!!!

ReplyDeleteI thought I had left a comment this morning, but I think I got side-tracked! Thanks again for the mention, I feel very honored (and tickled pink) when you do that :)
ReplyDeleteI'll add to my blog later tonight, also working on a post for Fall Reading.
Sorry you had to deal with not so nice comments, I never get that... why do people do that? It's so not necessary in the blog world, especially on a blog as nice as yours.
Hugs to you
xxxx
