Oh me Oh my-look at this & we have a winner

Okay call me nuts.  We haven't even meet in person and I have fallen head over heels in love with this:

This all red brick, Victorian, 6 bedroom 2 1/2 bath house.  It has the original slate roof.  It has 2 fireplaces, stained glass, beautiful woodwork...

but

(there's always a but-isn't there)

it isn't in a good area, so I have been researching what it would cost to get a lot, pour a new basement and a new garage, move the house...  I even looked at lots in a lake community--knowing that would thrill Prince Charming.  It SEEMS to be relatively reasonable, especially for this size home.  Depending on the lot we decided on and if the house needed to be rewired for central air.  It could all be done for between $90,000 and $120,000 but then the question is who will finance this type of project?  Have any of you ever moved a house to a different piece of property.  I know these numbers seem really low but the house is under $50,000.

Do you know what I could do with this beauty?  I already have visions of remodeling her, room by room.

Then I got this fabric from  Tammy. You should take a look at her blog.  She does gorgeous work.

I won her give-a-way and she gave me my choice of fabric and I just couldn't get this one out of my head.  I got it with Miss Goo in mind (that would be Miss G4) and of course I think of what it could look like in my dream house, cottage, bungalow, chalet, or shack if it is in really bad shape.  If she's a shack I would love to make her beautiful again.

Here is the bedding I made her

It actually started off as her baby comforter in her crib but I made it so I could add on to it when she went from her crib to a big girl bed.

Here are a few pictures from her room, from our last house.  I had just a little fun doing a girly room after doing cute boy romms 3 TIMES.

So now I have to figure out what I am going to make with it.  I would love for it to go in her room in my house up there (at the top of this post).  What should I call my "little" cottage?  Layla named her house The Lettered Cottage, mine needs a name--what should we call her?

I picked up this material for a project and I just love it.

I got these little beauties from tales from an oc cottage--aren't they so adorable?  I just adore them.  I am adding bling to those sea urchins to go along with the start fish.

I also received my Disc Hangers and I hung a plate and now I am working on another project to do with them and see how it works.

I can not wait to show you this project.  I got 2 things made from this one item I bought at the Thrift store.  I will have it posted tonight on the ITS SO VERY CREATIVE party.

I have several projects in the works.  Here are some sneak peaks at what I've been doing this weekend and how my projects are coming along.  I won't show you how they came out yet--stay tuned for their reveals.

Sorry I didn't get the winner announced yesterday.  I  got this post ready to be posted but remembered that I needed to get any names that became followers of Teri's so I sent her an e-mil and waited.  I got her e-mail last night but it was right before I had to make a run into the emergency room, last night after Prince Charming got off work--crazy bladder infection won't go away.  They confirmed that I needed even stronger meds.  We were both exhausted and walked out of there at about 1 in the morning, got home and Prince Charming asked what new meds they gave me and sure enough they gave me a prescription for a med I had taken before that made me violently ill--and it was in the information we gave them--that it makes me extremely ill.  This medicine made me so sick and gave me a horrendous migraine so I get to call back this morning and ask for something else.

The LUCKY WINNER of the watch is:
the PINEAPPLE PRINCESS from the Love Shack
Congratulation you lucky girl.  If you post about your win, please let me know so I don't miss it and I will come over and leave a comment.

and last but not least I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to PRINCE CHARMING.  What a great guy, he worked 12 hours on his birthday came home had some dinner, helped get the little ones to sleep and then went and sat in an emergency room, with me, on his birthday.  PRINCE CHARMING gets a steak dinner today and we are celebrating HIM today.  Happy birthday you stud--I love you with all my heart.

  7. Interesting on the house. My neighbors bought a brick bungalow for $1 that a doctor wanted gone so he could build a new office. They moved it about 7 blocks and then had it put on a foundation that was predone. There is a ton to this. If it is brick veneered- then it has to come off before the move. The porches have to come off before the move. And then you have to worry about which power lines must come down and the police force you have to pay to stop traffic while you move it in the middle of the night.
But it was fun to watch. I'd love to move my big foursquare out to some farm land..
on financing - not sure. Our bank said the house had to be paid off before we could move it.
But it is something to look into since the price is so low on it.

  12. Love that red brick house--hard to believe it's less than $50,000?! It's sad that so many beautiful older homes are now in bad parts of town where no one wants to live. When I was growing up, we had a house across from ours that looked almost identical to this one, so it brought back memories.

  15. I have tought of doing the same thing to a house. There is a huge old red brick queen anne victorian downtown that is currently subdivided into appartments. Directly behind it is a parkade that is as tall as the house. Directly in front of the gorgeous steps and entryway is an ugly apartment building. Poor old house! I hope you get to rescue this one!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading each and every comment. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I wish I could sit and chat with each of you face to face, sipping on an ice cold lemonade (in the hotter months) or a nice hot cup of coffee (in the colder months), getting to know each other but this is fun too.
