Decorating with vintage sleds

Remember these?

I bought a black pair of gloves when I was in Petals and Potpourri and they had this adorable little snowman face on the top of the gloves, but at $8 a pair I was not buying more than one. I knew I could make them myself but they had been so kind allowing me to take tons of pictures around the shop.  I had eyed them at the back of the store, then saw them again-- They had done a display with an old wood sled and one pair of gloves.

I picked up three more pair of gloves at a store; (that way I would have a pair for each of my kiddos)
a white pair that I coffee stained & added a cute little ruffled band to,

a gray pair

and a pair of plum colored gloves
to coordinate with the black ones I bought at the shop.  I knew I better grab them while we were in Missouri because--there aren't too many gloves sold here in SW Florida.  I also bought some gray material for the scarf. and a swag of blackberries at Hobby Lobby.  I sure do miss that place.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I repeated the snowman face on the top of the other 3 pair of gloves I had bought.  I asked G4 to go to the garage and bring me one of the sleds.  I didn't say which one, actually I couldn't decide which one I wanted and decided I would decorate which ever one he brought to me.  I am so glad he grabbed this one because it is so different.  The other one is the typical old wooden sled with metal runners--adorable and I love to decorate with it as well but anyway---I draped the gray scarf over and around the top of the sled, then added in the swag of blackberries and attached the gloves with wire. Don't you just love the rust and wear on that sled.

I am really thinking I need to add something to drape across the middle to finish it off-hmmm. I have an idea.
That sled is one of 2 that I have that are from when I was a kid.  I just love them.
If we had a mantle here I would do a whole display on the mantle but I will have to wait
till hubby has a job and we move to be able to do that.

PLEASE----PLEASE----PLEASE--I AM on my knees BEGGING--please re-subscribe
I lost hundreds of my subscribers--Google just made them vanish and they are GONE forever--so please re-subscribe. They told me there is a kink in the FOLLOWER FEATURE and if someone is just a follower they can go weeks without receiving updates.  I keep getting e-mails--daily from people telling me they stopped by because they no longer get my info in their reader--
probably because they aren't subscribed any longer.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading each and every comment. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I wish I could sit and chat with each of you face to face, sipping on an ice cold lemonade (in the hotter months) or a nice hot cup of coffee (in the colder months), getting to know each other but this is fun too.
