An Appetizer-- Candied Jalapeno Dip


I do cook things besides sweets-like in desserts. Yes, Yes, I know the name of this recipe tells you it is sweet but it is also hot and OH SO DELICIOUS. OK since this is a "sweet" recipe-not really-it's an appetizer-I will post an OH SO YUMMY casserole as well.

Candied Jalapeno Dip

1 jar of sliced jalapenos
1 C of sugar
1 container of WHIPPED cream cheese
1 bag of Corn tortilla chip

I pour a little of the juice off of the jalapenos, then pour the rest into a saucepan with the sugar and bring to a boil and continue to boil for 2 minutes. Let the candied jalapenos sit until they have completely cooled down. Mix the candied jalapenos only-reserve all the juice-with the whipped cream cheese. If it needs some of the juice you can add a spoonful at a time. Put the dip in a pretty serving bowl with the corn chops on the side. It is so addictive.

I wish I could sit and chat with each of you face to face, sipping on an ice cold lemonade (in the hotter months) or a nice hot cup of coffee (in the colder months), getting to know each other but this is fun too.
