2nd Week of the Give Away-New Rules

New Rules this week so read to see what to do:

This adorable Garden Plaque is store bought but I thought it was so cute.)

The Robin Nest is hand made by me.

A close up of the Robin Nest-I used vintage pages for the nest. I made the large tag and hand drew the bird. I painted the eggs. The little shabby tags have your children's names on them. There is an egg for each of your kiddos-that I hand painted. I just love this and think I need one in my house.

Apron-The black and white apron is a waist apron, the satin tie is heat sealed to prevent fraying. It was handmade by me.

#1 *** You will get your name put in to the drawing each time you leave me a comment for the week. If you want to come back each day and leave me a comment you can and I will put your name in to the drawing for each comment. I would like to have you post some interesting info about you or ask me a question. I just like you gals and like getting to know you better.

#2*** If you are a follower your name will go in once a day-that is 7 chances-just for being a follower. If followers reach 100 this week I will send out one of the remaining gifts PLUS throw in another bird nest for this weeks drawing-that means 2 people could win a birds nest. I am getting a lot of comments about the nest so I will make another one available.

#3*** You will get your name put in to the drawing if you post about my GIVE AWAY and add my BUTTON on the side bar of your blog. If you post on Sat. Your name goes in 7 times, if you don't post till Wed. your name will go in 3 times. You get the idea. HINT HINT: You might want to encourage people to become a follower and let them know if it reaches 100 this week I will add another bird nest into the drawing.

***If you don't have a blog an e-mail address will be enough to sign up for the give away.

Names will be drawn on Friday night each week-let's make the cut off 10 p.m. WINNERS will be posted on Saturday morning.

Have a FABULOUS week and GOOD LUCK!!! (Even though I don't really believe in luck I don't know a better word to use and heaven forbid I don't want to say go break a leg.)

I actually used some old books-Please don't hate me. I used books that I would never read and personally got some junk off the shelves to keep others from reading. (FYI-I wouldn't buy anything about witch craft or anything Satanic because I wouldn't want it in my house or in a project I did.) The base is paper mache-good ole paper-more book pages, flour and water. When I make mine I want my sweet husband to make a 3 legged twig stand for it-now wouldn't that be cute? I can see it in my head and I KNOW he will be so excited to do that for me.

  16. Lisa,
I like how you linked back to your post-good marketing, noted and I will have to do that. Hallmark has the BEST cafeteria you have evah been to. The salad bar is to die for, they have all kinds of stuff from hot meals, to sandwiches, from scratch pies and cookies and they make fresh bread and sell it in their card shop their at the headquarters. They have a place called Kaleidoscope for kids-they can make all kinds of art projects, make their own design and then it goes through this machine and becomes a puzzle. They also have a shopping area with a store called Halls (similar quality to a Saks)and then their are a lot of other stores in the mall area and it is attached to their hotel, which has a natural rock wall and water fall in it. The Mayor Christmas Tree is their in the fountain area by the ice skating rink.
AND girl I would think you would have great chances at winning one of these weeks -- you are one great commenter. You always leave the sweetest notes.

  17. To all the sweet gals, girl friends, woman-no ladies, The questions are really fun.
This is the answer to Caroline's question:
OK I LOVE anything that has to do with interior decorating. I love an eclectic look and having things in my home that make it, one of a kind. I love pieces that inspire someone to say hmmm where did you get that or how did you make that and I always want to do it in a thrifty, budget friendly way. I really enjoy crafts. I would probably lean more towards crafts than sewing but I can sew. When I sew I really enjoy making my own curtains-once again -the one of a kind thing,(I don't enjoy making outfits). Do you see a theme here? I was an interior decorating major in college and had to have sewing classes, So (not sew) I know how to alter patterns etc but just don't like sewing clothes-too much time to make them perfect, and alter the patterns to make them so they fit your body, plus I don't like it if they look home made. I personally am just not into the little house on the prairie look, if that is the look your family goes for, that is fine-it's just not me.
As for the tutorial-that would be fun. I have never done one before so I would have to check into all the info on posting a video-length of time allowed, etc. It will probably be something that will have to wait till my sweet husband is done with school(so he can help me) and has landed that great job, we are moved to where ever in this great country, God has for us (please not lots of snow in the winter, Lord)and settled in. That may sound like a long time away but he is super close to being done with this course work. We are hoping he will be ready to take the final exam by the end of the month, and Lord willing, there will be a fabulous job just waiting for us when he has his new PMP certification in hand. If not he will do more classes and we will wait on the Lord. So depending on when the Lord moves us, will depend on how quickly I can get his assistance on the video thing. FYI-I would probably have to do more than one video, depending on if I was stripping the shade down to the skeleton or working with the existing cover or just covering over the material already on it. I will post some pictures of the chandelier I did for my daughter's bedroom. I redid the lampshades. I will also post her bedding that I made her from scratch-that means I need to go get some pictures taken quickly.
    Thanks for the questions

  18. Congrats to Barbara Jean!! I Love your blog, came by way of Barbara Jeans. What fabulous giveaways you have! I would love to be entered :) I definitely will become a follower and will post about your giveaway. Question . . .do you have a studio, space or somewhere special where you create and what inspires you? The bird nest and lamp shades are so beautiful and I love the apron.

  19. Toni:
Your Question made me chuckle. Right now I have nothing of my own. Let me explain-due to the economy and job market we are int he middle of a career change and my sweet husband is in school. We used to live in KS/Mo area but my parents asked us, several times, about coming and staying with them-to be a help to them, and it would in turn be a help to us to not have a house payment. After many months and getting the house in KS off of our hands we moved all the way to Florida. Rental units are outrageous here -over $300 a month, so we decided to sell just about everything or donate it and move only what we had to have or absolutely could not part with (like all my Christmas decorations), so when Mr Wonderful gets a new job and we find a house-you will probably be seeing a renovation of each and every room on this blog-it will be fun but it will take a while because I have to replace everything from plates to furniture to lamps and lots of pretties that make a house a home. I want to find the old HEAVY soda fountain glasses-all mix and match-for our every day glasses.
So -- no I do not have a studio-the only space that is just ours is the bedroom. My Mom and Dad are gracious enough to put up with my projects that are usually done in the kitchen- (I have had craft rooms in our other homes).

What inspires me-oh goodness-all kinds of things. My brain will come up with things and I will just create it. I, sometimes wake up in the middle of the night thinking about something and I can't go back to sleep until I have figured out what I am going to do. Other times I will see something and think, oh that would make a cool whatever, sometimes I will see something and think I can make that for so much less or I will see something and it will give me an idea for something totally different. Was that confusing enough. Did I ever tell ya'll that I can talk-a lot?

  21. I was reading my comment to Toni and thought I better explain something I said so you gals don't think I fell and hit my head and have no idea what reality is. When I said rental units are expensive here I was referring to storage places to store all of our stuff not something to rent-$300 would be a bargain or someplace really scary.

You sure can enter-all I need is an e-mail to be able to contact someone if they win. Send me an e-mail with your informations
    Cheri.Peoples@love.com
I've had a couple of other people ask me this as well. Sometimes I see something and think I can make that, no need to pay THAT for this item (but then there are times a craftsman is so good and I want their item), other times I will see something and it inspires me to make something else and then there are those times-and these are the majority for me-where something will just pop into my head and I will be in bed, unable to go to sleep thinking through how I will do something and make it just right. My sweet husband-used to dread the word project-when we first got married but he has decided that he always likes the outcome and so he just goes with the flow.
Ex: I have had an old typesetters drawer for a long time, since before I was married (wow it's old) I probably bought it right out of high school. I've held on to it but haven't used it for anything in many, many years and the other day an idea popped into my head and I know what I want to make it turn into-that will have to be a make over reveal.

I hope you will become a follow and check in often. My goal is to be the FUNNEST blog on the block.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading each and every comment. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I wish I could sit and chat with each of you face to face, sipping on an ice cold lemonade (in the hotter months) or a nice hot cup of coffee (in the colder months), getting to know each other but this is fun too.
