Decorating in Autumn colors

Is this not sooo cute? Does it look familiar at all? I got this off Mary's (Engelbreit) blog

I am working on making my buttons smaller and adding categories and tags--so much to do. I think I need an assistant-heehee.

If you haven't subscribed I would highly recommend it because I have some very exciting news coming and you are going to want to get the updates so you don't miss out. I promise --big info coming from me next week and it involves $100.00 Plus I am getting sooo busy-good and bad. Monday I had @500 visitors and Tues and Wed. were very busy as well. I love it and read every single comment and I have always tried to get back to everyone. If my blog continues to grow at the rate it has (I'm only 3 months old) I will have to stop going to see everyone and comment on every comment. (I'm still trying to get to everyone this week.) I will continue to make visits and will read every comment but I have 4 children that I need to be a Mother to, as well. I love growth and change and I love meeting so many new people. I want you to leave comments-I absolutely love reading them all and I want to get to everyone. I hope to some day pick up advertisers. I have so many fun things planned for this blog and I want you all to be able to get all the info. I have a bunch of give-a-ways coming VERY soon. In order to have time for great projects to put on the blog I need time to do that. The good in all of this is the growth and knowing so many people like my unique style, the bad is not getting to "talk" with each of you weekly-I may have to make it a monthly visit. Please don't leave me and keep leaving comments so I know you were here. I will continue to come over and follow those who follow me, so if you click on follow and have not received a visit from me, your info must not give a blog name to visit. I do have some people who must have set their initial info up without giving the blog or access to it. If this is the case drop me an e-mail and I will come on over.

On that note does any one know how to make a button for the top of your blog-the ones that go under the header, so you can place info --like ABOUT ME, ADVERTISING INFO, BLOG LIST I want to clean up the front of my screen so I can do some additional things. I like it to look tidy. If anyone can help me I would SOOOO appreciate it. I am a quick learner and if given instructions I can do it myself.

Here's a little tip for you. Have you ever been cooking and had something spill over in the bottom of the oven and the kitchen starts smelling smokey? What's a gal to do, you r food needs to keep cooking but the smell is horrendous? All you have to do is pull out your box of plain salt and pour it over the spill and it will stop the smoke, if it doesn't you didn't put enough on it. The next morning when your oven has cooled down just use a scrape it up and wipe it up and your oven is clean again.

I was looking at the fall colors for Crate and Barrel, Ballard Design, and Pottery Barn. They are showing deep peacock blue, plums, chartreuse, stone, grey, red, white silver, black, still some robin egg blue with tans, whites, creams and black and some red. Also some golds and browns, red, green and orange. Very Jewel toned in some ways. Get ready fall is just around the corner.

The Imperfect Housewife did a post about the give-a-way she won from me-the bird nest that I made. She e-mailed me thanking me for it and said it was cute on the blog but it is so much cuter in person-she was so excited that she won. I also received a sweet thankyou note in the mail from Melissa's Heart and Home for her bird nest.

  1. OMG I want that book! Bloggin life does get pretty busy when you host a meme! I can barely keep up with commenting on normal posts, much less the meme links.

  2. I just saw on Raised in Cotton that you are from Missouri too! It seems like there are a lot of "Missouri Girls" on these blogs. We must have good taste!

    Have a great day!

  3. Thanks so much for stopping by and for commenting on my blog.:)

I love Mary Engelbreit! Her art is so cheery and happy, it always makes me smile.

Oh yeah, the salt also works if you have something on top the stove catch or in the over catch on fire. I keep a box of salt close to my stove at all times. I had always heard this, but last Thanksgiving I got to find out if it works. A turkey I was cooking had so much grease that it spilled out and the grease caught on fire - I quickly grabbed my box of salt and threw it on the fire, it was extinguished immediately. Yeah!

Like you, I need an assistant!!! Or maybe more energy and more hours in the day would work as well.:)

    Have a wonderful day!

  6. Ohhh, I'm so glad you posted the salt thing, unfortunately it's a few years too late, I had a small oven fire and freaked and called the fire dept. *sigh* Hubby was not too happy, lol. By the way, I added the Following gadget to my blog now:)

    Have a great Thursday!

  13. Congrats on the success of your blog! Isn't blogging THE best? I love it...it's really changed my life, for the better!

I just wanted to stop by and say hello and thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment. I too, love connecting with my readers and commenters and I try really hard to always respond to each one. As a mother of 4 myself, I know it can get difficult to find the time. I hate it when I can't get around to everyone...but I try my best.

Anyway, it was nice to meet you.

  16. Hey, does that salt on the burned oven work if the oven is a self cleaner? It won't hurt the surface, will it? Not continuous clean that's rough, but a self cleaner that's shiny. I will definitely try it! Thanks so much for visiting my blog, and I'm going to join your group of followers! You can join mine too, if you'd like! Talk to you later!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading each and every comment. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I wish I could sit and chat with each of you face to face, sipping on an ice cold lemonade (in the hotter months) or a nice hot cup of coffee (in the colder months), getting to know each other but this is fun too.
