I have had several comments about the cabin pictures I posted in the last post so, I decided to do a post about this lovely place. This is Big Cedar Lodge. It is located in the rolling hills of Southern Missouri, just minutes from Branson, Mo. You will experience luxury and the Wilderness experience, all in one, at Big Cedar Lodge.
You can spend your entire time without leaving the property but a walk to the marina will reveal Table Rock Lake. It is a clear blue, man made lake that winds down into Arkansas. In 2002, Table Rock Lake achieved National honor for the largest spoonbill caught. It weighed over 139 lbs. The lake varies in depth and the view changes from cove to cove. There are some great cliff ledges that provide great areas to jump from and other areas have caves that you can go into. In the fall the foliage is exquisite. There are several resorts on the lake. Homes can also be built on the lake, although there are strict rules about cutting any tree lines down.
Table Rock Lake
As you enter the property you are surrounded by trees. You take the winding road, up and down, over and around to the Lodge, as it twists and turns through the wooded area, you drive right over a running creek that flows over the road. You are nestled in for a comfy but weathered stay in the Ozark Mountains.

Here is some info I pulled right from their website:

Dogwood Canyon Cabins - Enjoy nature? One, two, and three bedroom rustic log cabins are located 16 miles from Big Cedar and offer ample opportunity for outdoor exploration, as Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is but a few steps away. Indoor amenities include a fireplace, satellite television, VCR, and a gas grill.
Big Cedar has 5 different restaurants on the property to accommodate a variety of different tastes.
Just imagine you are there. You wake, in your cabin, it is still early and there is a little chill in the air. You grab your coffee and Indian blanket and wrap it around your shoulders as you venture out onto the deck. You take in a deep breathe of fresh, clean air. It is still the early morning hours, when the birds and crickets are chirping and the frogs are still croaking and the lake is perfectly still and quiet. A smokey mist waifs over the water, beckoning you to come dangle your toes in the water. This is Table Rock Lake. Its 43,000 acres of clear blue-green water weaves in and out like a snake. Grab your camera for some postcard picture memories because, not very often, can you find such beauty and wonderment all in one place. In just a few short hours the lake will be busy with jet skis and boats, water skiing and swimming. Who knows you may want to grab a boat and head on down to Arkansas so you can see the goats that walk on the tiny cliff ledges that hang out, dangling out over the lake.

Here are some of the items in their gift shop:

Table Rock has a golf course right there on the property, a spa, the marina, and you can even take a horse drawn carriage ride through the property. Not only do they have wonderful activities for adults but they have wonderful activities planned out for the children who visit the resort. One of their pool areas, has a lazy river and there is a water slide and water fountains in the pool area. It is so relaxing and beautiful. I hope you get to go for a visit at least once in your life time.

I am working on my menu bar--what do you think? If any one knows any better suggestions on how to do the HTML code so my buttons don't come up like a post-I would greatly appreciate the info.

ReplyDeleteI love Branson. We live in NW Arkansas so Branson is just a quick car trip away. I don't think there's been a year of my life that I've not gone to Silver Dollar City with the family.
