Welcome to the Its So Very Cheri Cottagey home tour this week. This week I will be your tour guide as I walk you through my sister's, Jennifer and brother-in-law's, Shawn's sweet little cottage.
They closed on this home the week before they got married and the weekend before their wedding, we were all over at the house stripping year after year after year of wallpaper. You could tell from each layer the period that the wallpaper had been put up. While they were on their honeymoon they had the carpet taken up in the bedrooms
and had the hardwood floors done to match. It is a white wash on all the hardwood floors.
They have worked on many projects in the last 15 years.
They've replaced all the wood around the windows and put in a new garage door. Lots of landscaping.
The walkway from the driveway to the house is a brick walkway and the front porch is as well. My brother-in-law laid it.
Come on it.
She not only has a wreath on the front door but a door hanger on the back as well. We will go through the living room first.
She has so many cute, warm and welcoming little accents throughout the house.I love the candle apple dish and the pumpkin in the next picture.
Off the Living Room is the Dining Room
This light used to be the bright shiny brass and she painted it the oil rubbed bronze.
Her dining room colors.
Behind the Dining Room is the Kitchen.
A yummy smelling Paula Deen candle on her stove.
My brother-in-law, with a friend did all the tile.
Do you recognize that plate that I hand painted for her.
You will notice a lot of pears because she collects them.
They recently redid the kitchen, putting in new counter tops, sink, tile, lighting, cabinet and drawer handles and pulls... etc...
Through that door is the laundry room and pantry area. The back door leads to their deck and back yard.
She always has cute holiday or seasonal tea-towels
Welcome to my niece Morgan's Room
Morgan's Room is done in periwinkle and pink with a ballerina theme.
My niece, Jacqueline's room is done in purple and yellow with some accents in pink.
The girls have a great selection of hair bows, My sister's best friend works for a hair bow company and makes them a lot of their hair bows.
They recently put bead board up in this bathroom,
My sister and brother-in-law's room is a really big room. It was an add-on before they moved in. This room did not have layers of wallpaper but had black walls and someone had flung paint in purple all over the walls.
When Jennifer and Shawn got married, Jennifer asked me to make their ring bearer pillow with their last name initial. She wanted something a little different than the normal frilly pillow and this is what
I created for her. Each time she has decorated their bedroom, she has used
colors that coordinated with the pillow.
I hand stitched the A on the pillow.
The room is largest enough for all of their bedroom furniture and their desk.
My brother-in-law
owns a business with his father and he works from home.
They have a bathroom off of the bedroom, done in sage and cinnamon
Once again, my brother-in-law did the tile in this bathroom.
I hope you have enjoyed the home tour. It looks so different from that day they took possession.
I can't show you any of my favorite posts because she doesn't have a blog--YET. I got her stuck on facebook, next should be a blog. I told her we should do a business together.
Everyone leave her lots of sweet messages and tell her she should blog.
I'm sure they will love reading all of your comments.
