What's a Mom to do-

I am so tired and so far behind, it's 8 a.m. and I'm ready for a nap.  I have not wrapped a single gift yet and have about half of my baking done.  My 2 big boys both have a couple of dog walking jobs and lawn mowing jobs.  They make pretty good money for being 11 and 12 years old.  They had an idea in mind for their Dad's gift, then changed their minds and it was a good decision but then came the task of another idea.  He hasn't been a big help with any suggestions.  You ask what he wants for Christmas and he says a GREAT JOB.  So I still have to take them out one more time to get their shopping done, pick up a prescription, get back home to do the other half of my baking and try to wrap gifts between the timer going off and try not to burn anything.  I have a few things I need to get done for our Christmas meal as well.  My veggie dip is a must have and we make it up the day before.  It just tastes better when the flavors have had a day to be incorporated together.  I also have a cranberry jello salad and our cranberry relish that has to be made up the day before.  I will have to look over my list to see what else needs done today.  What's a Mom to do?

2 nights ago Miss G4 ran to the back lanai and announced "OH NO IT HASN'T SNOWED YET", then while we were out yesterday G3 (4 yrs old) said "Mom, it hasn't snowed yet and Santa CAN'T come till it snows".  That is a REAL problem when you live in SW FL.  I wonder how many times it has ever snowed here? Do you think if I fling white sand in the air --that might do the trick? What's a Mom to do?

We were going to take the kids out last night to deliver their "favorite decorated house AWARDS" but I am so far behind--and in order to deliver a plate of goodies means you have to have the baking done, so we will be running them out tonight.  Maybe the little ones will fall asleep in the car-so I can finish wrapping and not be up till 4 am, and be woke at 5 am by excited kids. What's a Mom to do?

I hope you each have a wonderful Christmas filled with tons of fun, lots of yummy treats, precious memories, and wonderful family. What's a Mom to do but cherish the excitement and love on her kids who are filled with so much thrill and excitement.

Thank you to everyone who bought my e-books for the holidays.  I have been on a search everywhere for the Kraft Roka Blue Cheese and no one has it down here.  I got on line to see who mght carry it and come to find out they have discontinued it---NOOOOOO!!!  I saw a post on the Kraft website for a substitute for it--so I will be trying it this year to see how it works:

1 tub (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Spread
1/4 cup  ATHENOS Crumbled Blue Cheese

MIX ingredients until well blended.
ADD up to 1/3 cup water, 1 Tbsp. at a time, if thinner consistency is desired. For added tang, stir in 1/2 tsp. white vinegar.

Note
Use half of this recipe as the perfect substitute for the discontinued 5-oz. jar of KRAFT ROKA Blue Spread.
Note
Refrigerate any leftover spread. Serve with your favorite NABISCO Crackers.

  1. What's a Mom to do? What Moms have done for centuries; grin and bear it, and tuck away lots of "heart pictures" that you will review and play back in your mind every Christmas for the rest of your life.

Cherish your frazzled moments; Christmas is never as sweet as when you have believers in your nest.

Merry Christmas! And remember ... what doesn't get done, can be done NEXT YEAR!

    Blessings, Cass

  2. I just told my husband that if I had another week, I think I could be ready for Christmas.

I've decided not to stress, what's done is done and what's not just will not be this year.

Right now, I have 3 very happy little grandsons sitting on the sofa enjoying a Christmas movie. They have no clue that the menu changed at the last minute because part of it will not be delivered until late...nor will they care.

Trying to just chill out and enjoy it all with them!

    Merry Christmas!

    Merry Christmas!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading each and every comment. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I wish I could sit and chat with each of you face to face, sipping on an ice cold lemonade (in the hotter months) or a nice hot cup of coffee (in the colder months), getting to know each other but this is fun too.
