What happens when you combine a 3year old and a pair of scissors?

She goes from THIS

AND THIS

No not this, this is more like the face her MOM made when she found what she had done

TO THIS:
The Mullet
She isn't allowed to leave the house without hair bows or a hat--THE ABSOLUTE RULE until it grows out.

OH MY ACHY BREAKY HEART

  1. My youngest came out of the bedroom proud as a peacock when she was 4. It took me a moment to realize just what I was looking at. She wanted to see her ears.

She cut straight back over her ears, giving herself a bad mullet.

It was so far back on one side, that there was no helping it- her hair was cut to about 2 inches long. She had long hair, and lots of curls. It was 2 weeks before Christmas, so she looked like a boy for Christmas.

my three year old took the scissors and chopped a good back portion off - of his little SISTER'S hair!!! The stinker! Her hair was difficult for about two months :(

  3. Oh my goodness! It's not as bad as what I did to myself when I was 3. I decided I didn't want bangs anymore and chopped them straight off! I looked like a quail when they started to grow back.

  5. My nephew..who had the most beautiful big dark eyes..
with long dark naturally curved eyelashes..
at age three, decided he did not like being admired..
    people would say without thinking..
"with such gorgeous eyes and eyelashes..you should have been a girl"..
so he promptly cut off his EYELASHES!
because he didn't want to look like a girl..
today, he is the most handsome man
with the most beautiful expressive eyes..and long curly eyelashes..
of which both his mom and I are so envious!!
there is something about being three..
    warm hugs, laughing smiles..

  7. Scissors are the reason it is great to have a beautician in the family. She still looks precious.

  8. I think we almost all of us have been there. My Daughter was 4 and her brother was 3 when they had the HAIRDAY MASSACRE! I only noticed when my son walked by and I couldn't figure out why he had white fluff on his shirt. Then I saw it. She had opened up her very own barber shop. Not only had she cut her hair she cut his and a half a dozen stuffed animals then not feeling like she had accomplished enough she moved on to her bed skirt and the netting that hung above her bed. You are lucky bows cover the damage. The only way for me to cover what she did to her hair would be with a bonnet. LOL I can laugh now after years of therapy! Oh the memories.

  9. Oh dear...we had a little situation like that at our house that took...a few months to fix...but hey....I heard story after story from moms mostly who took one look at my little poopsie, laughed and then filled me in on their situation! My cousin cut off all her curls and then tried to tape them back on! Uh oh....
    Sorry for your....unfortunate circumstance!

    Big smile!
    Blessings,
    Debbie

  13. Oh, my goodness! Where's the picture? Was it that bad? My son decided to cut his sister's bangs one time. I say 'one time'! :)
    Kids! Gotta luv 'em.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  14. I believe that is a part of almost every girl's childhood.

My older daughter cut her sister's hair, and lied. We believed her when she said she didn't do it, and at the time, her sister didn't have the language skills to explain. We were stumped, but we let it go. The truth came out years later.

Big sis eventually became a licensed hair stylist, so she still cuts her sister's hair.

  16. Yes, I think we all have those stories either what we did ourselves, what our kids did, or both! But it's only funny afterward.. One good thing about hair, it always grows back..Take lots of pictures of her to remember some day and show her boyfriends (O:

  18. Just a few months ago my daughter let the neighbor girl cut gum out of her hair and she has this lovely little chunk of 1" long hair right at the crown of her VERY long blond hair. We've been slicking it down with product, putting it up or back with a very thick headband.

    Girls...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading each and every comment. Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I wish I could sit and chat with each of you face to face, sipping on an ice cold lemonade (in the hotter months) or a nice hot cup of coffee (in the colder months), getting to know each other but this is fun too.
