The Friday Funnies--new info

The Friday Funnies
I continue to get a lot of e-mail about the posts from this week.  I have not laughed that hard in a long time.

Here is the plan (that goes right along with the last post I just did.):
1}  I will have a linky party up on Fridays(linky is at the bottom of this post) and it will be open till the following Thursday morning. (on Thursday I will be deciding on a winner).

2}  You can post whatever you want, as far as funny stories go--no topics.
You can add pictures or videos.  I will even allow you to post things you have found in cyber space--(You tube etc)

I was leaning towards topics but then I have gotten e-mails from people who don't have little ones at home and I don't want to leave anyone out.  Plus if it is hilarious and I never pick that topic we could miss out on a lot of knee slapping fun.

I will eliminate things that go against the standards of my blog--I do not want any sex videos etc posted on here.

3}  On Friday I will post the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

I would really appreciate it if you would pass this on to all your friends at work, church, school, home school groups, play groups....etc etc etc... This is not just for woman but men will find this hilarious as well.  Can you hear the pillow talk now.

LAUGHING is so good for the soul.  It changes you psychologically, when you laugh.  I think there are a lot of people out there who NEED a good laugh.

On a side note:
As fun as all of the "awards" are out there, and I really do appreciate being nominated, I really do not have time to go through them and I always feel terrible when they sit in my e-mail for weeks as I hope to steal away a few minutes to get it done... so I am going to make a request.  If there is something you want to know about me, the family, my projects...ASK and I will post it in a Questions and Answer area, for everyone to be able to click on and read.  I don't mind answering the questions, it is just all the time involved in doing them and then sending them to a certain number of blogs.  If you think my blog is creative, innovative, funny,... do me a favor and do a post about it letting people know about my blog.  I am going to put a little note on the side about not doing awards, any more.  Please Please Please do not take this personally.  I just have so much on my plate right now--I am trying to learn how to create my own header etc and trying to figure out how to do several techy things as well as all the other things I do on a regular basis.  I crawl into bed somewhere between 12:30 and 2 am every day, and I am up --depending on the day by 6:30 or 7 in the morning and I go non stop all day long and still have a list of thing I did not get accomplished.

I know I have 3 awards as of today so I will tell you 5 things about myself that I don't think I have posted on these awards before and as I find the awards in my e-mail I will tell them I did this post with 5 things about me and hope it covers what I was supposed to do for that award.
1} I can not stand to wear long night GOWNS to bed-It drives me crazy to get twisted in them in the night so it is either a short gown or a pant and top style.
2} Out of all the cousins on my Dad's side of the family, including us, there are 7 GIRLS and my Dad's step brother has 5 GIRLS as well--there are NO BOYS
3} Out of all the cousins on my Mom's side including us, there are 7 GIRLS and 4 BOYS--can you say GIRLS RULE BOYS DROOL
(then Prince Charmings side has limited girls)
4} I would love my own TV show--who wouldn't--I even have the theme PLANNED out...and it is a GREAT idea too...HGTV, NBC, CBS... do you want a TV show that rivals with TY and is a helping solution to all the bank problems out there right now and the economy in a terrible rut--CALL ME.
5}  I have bigger plans for my blog than anyone knows.  It is too much to share,  we will see if I get there in the next 5 years.
I have 3 posts today-this is the 3rd, the previous one is about a project but also about my LISTS--ha ha and the other is BY REQUEST the BUTTER Cookie recipe I made earlier this week.

My son,G1 (12 years old) told me the other day that he was so glad he was born in this "time" because kids in the past just didn't have very much to do, play with or keep them entertained. KIDS IN THE PAST include his father and I.  His brother, G2 (11 years)  then said "Can you imagine PaPa playing kick the can--what was the big deal with that game?"  I explained that back in Papa's Day there mom's did a lot of canning, canned veggies were a totally new concept.  You got fruit in your stocking because it was a treat to have fruit in the winter months. I continued with...being able to go to the store a get canned goods started out as a treat, so having a can to kick around was a fun new game.  I remember some of the stories my Dad has told of things he did with the collaboration of his friends.

One day the boys went to each of the neighbors houses who had babies and asked if they could take the babies for walks.  The Mom's would say things like, "how sweet of you boys", then get the baby and the boys would push the baby in the stroller to the next house.  Once each of the boys had a baby in a baby carriage, they put the rest of their plan into action.

What those mothers didn't know was that the boys wanted to have a RACE.  They would all get lined up and then see who could run the fastest, with those babies in those OLD carriages, not strapped in and probably holding on for dear life.  I told my Dad they should all be thankful no one tipped a carriage and hurt one of those babies or worse.

After several races, they took the babies home, those young mothers, none the wiser.
Be sure to add my URL-I will add making a new button to MY LIST-to your post.
Add your post into the linky party.

Before sharing the side splitting post I want to let you know that
THIS has inspired me to start a new theme for FRIDAYS

THE FRIDAY FUNNIES

if you have a funny story you would like to share PLEASE e-mail me at cheri.peoples@live.com
I am going to see if we get enough funny e-mails in to post a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner each Friday.

-Pass the Word if you like to laugh-
PLEASE Help SPREAD THE WORD
just so I have enough to post each week
and
please send me stuff for next Friday.
PICTURES ARE AWESOME!!! (hint: entries with pictures will probably get higher rankings just because you can see what has happened.)

PLEASE HELP ME
Do you think I should pick a theme for each week?
(ex: babies/kids falling asleep in their food or falling asleep while potty training; crazy animals,
funny husband/wife stories, weddings, do you write a funny blog each week?...  give me other ideas)
OR
Do you think I should just have people send me whatever and pick the 3 funniest to post each week?
For next Friday just send me funny stuff BUT please tell me which way I should go with this?

This has been so much fun.  Now are you ready to split a gut laughing.  You know, I'm just preparing you, as any good hostess would do...

Submitted by MOMMY DEAREST Jill from Such is Life
Just kidding Jill.
This post is titled HAIR TODAY GONE TOMORROW:
(I have copied this from Jill's blog-these are her words not mine.)
I have to tell a story, because these pictures definitely need some explaining.

I suppose this is a week for me to learn lessons. The two I learned last night were:
- Read directions BEFORE operating electric equipment
- Always double check what you are doing before you make any dramatic changes in ones appearance.

Lat night I bought some clippers to cut the boys hair, I have been cutting Scott's hair with some borrowed clippers and thought it would be a good investment. I decided to try out my new toy on Jack. I was fiddling around with all the attachments and amidst my excitement I forgot that I had taken off the clipper attachment and just the bare blade was exposed. I proceeded to take a massive chunk out of the golden locks of jacks luscious hair. lesson #1 learned..always double check. the damage was bad enough that I couldn't even buzz it...we had to shave him. bald. like not-a-hair-left-on-the-kids-head bald. No problem I thought, until I learned lesson #2 about one minute later. Always read directions. I neglected to read that the clippers needed to be charged for no less than three hours before using them. About one minute into shaving his head, the clippers die and this is what I was left with...

My very own Benjamin Button!
I guess we will know what Jack will be looking like in his geriatric years. Scott walked in from work at this point and had a panic attack. You can also notice jacks somber face, I didn't get many smiles from that little guy last night.

BUT, no worries, we let the clippers charge and now we have a FULLY bald two year old. (insert sigh of relief)

And now he is ALL smiles!

The Mullet Saga continues--we even have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place saga winner

If you didn't see the post yesterday you need to click here first before you read any further http://itssoverycheri.blogspot.com/2010/01/what-happens-when-you-combine-3year-old.html

so I hope you are caught up or you have already seen the post from yesterday.

Yesterday G2 (11 yrs) said  to Miss Goo "you're so pretty" and she said "No I'm not".  I said "You're beautiful, tell Grant I'm beautiful" she did and then I said "even with the mullet".  I asked her "WHO cut your hair?" and she put her little pointer finger up to her cheek, rolled those eyes up and began tapping her finger on her cheek and said "Hmmmmm, I'm thinking about it, I'm thinking about it"  then she said

"Jesus cut it".
Can you imagine what our years are going to be like when she is a teenager.

I have received so many funny e-mails from gals telling me stories about their sagas of  HAIR CUTS.

We have laughed and laughed.  Our big boys have enjoyed all the stories too.  G2 looked at me and said "See Mom I told you we would all laugh about this SOME day".  We have given a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. If you can top those stories send them to me.  We may have to give out new AWARDS.

 Can you top these?:
 In 3rd place
My nephew..who had the most beautiful big dark eyes..
with long dark naturally curved eyelashes..
at age three, decided he did not like being admired..
people would say without thinking..
"with such gorgeous eyes and eyelashes..you should have been a girl"..
so he promptly cut off his EYELASHES!
because he didn't want to look like a girl..
today, he is the most handsome man
with the most beautiful expressive eyes..and long curly eyelashes..
of which both his mom and I are so envious!!
there is something about being three..

In 2nd place:
I think we almost all of us have been there. My Daughter was 4 and her brother was 3 when they had the HAIRDAY MASSACRE! I only noticed when my son walked by and I couldn't figure out why he had white fluff on his shirt. Then I saw it. She had opened up her very own barber shop. Not only had she cut her hair she cut his and a half a dozen stuffed animals then not feeling like she had accomplished enough she moved on to her bed skirt and the netting that hung above her bed. You are lucky bows cover the damage. The only way for me to cover what she did to her hair would be with a bonnet. LOL I can laugh now after years of therapy! Oh the memories.

AND IN 1st PLACE

I hope that all of you know how proud i am of our JadyBug. She is smart, sweet, a great big sister, strong, athletic, graceful, funny, loving and a blast to be around. But, she isn't always as great as that sentence may lead you to believe. Two years ago tonight was one of those times...

It was my quarter end and it had been a semi-stressful day. We weren't to the point that we were doing a lot of business yet, so I was able to go home at a decent hour. I got home and Jade didn't want to go to bed. She wanted to watch "Herbie Fully Loaded" and we didn't. So we let her curl up in our bed and watch it. She had been coming to check in with us every so often. We noticed that it had been a little while since we had heard from her. We thought that she must have gone to sleep. We didn't go check on her.

Several minutes went by and we still didn't check on her. Certain she must be asleep.

Soon, she comes bouncing out of our room. "Look, Mommy, look what I did to my hair!" In the night light silhouetted, I thought, "What on earth did you put in your hair that got it so slicked back?" I reach out to touch it, expecting wet and gooey. Instead, I feel a buzz cut! I scream, I start to cry, I send her over to the couch where Scott is sitting.

While I go and look in the bathroom, Scott calls my parents to come over and be a voice of reason. In the bathroom, I find the scissors put away and they hair, little 1 inch long strands, gathered up and put in the trash. At least she tidied up after herself!

My parents got there just as we were about to shave her head. My mom said that we just couldn't do that to her. It would be too traumatic. So, we cleaned up the edges and got rid of a few longer chunks on the top.

Here is how our little blond beauty looked, two years ago today.
And how she looked two years ago, tonight...
Yes, she cut all the way back and all the way down each side. Every family has at least one child that cuts their hair. Never have I known one to cut her own hair to such a length. I told her when she did it that she would be in kindergarten before we were able to cut it up to a bob. Guess what? She's in kindergarten and it is just barely long enough to do a little bob. She doesn't want one, so we just tapered it and tried to blend it a little, while keeping her length.
The saddest part of the story was the next morning. Jade came running into our room and said, crying, "Mommy, my hair! It didn't grow back!"

That winter she wore a lot of really cute skull caps. She still got to look like an adorable little blond girl with her long hair hanging out the back. But, boy am I glad it's long enough now we can pull it back any way we want and the front doesn't require a handful of bobby pins...

I can look at that picture and be thankful for the mullet.

WOULD you like to bring more attention to your blog?
I have a give-a-way going on for a month of FREE advertising--you don't have to have a shop or even an etsy site.  I want a month of FREE advertising on a bigger blog than mine.  This is a GREAT way to get more people aware of your blog.
